Spring/Fall Clean Up

Spring and Fall Clean-Ups are essential seasonal services designed to transition your property smoothly between seasons. These clean-ups remove accumulated debris, prepare plants and lawns for the coming season, and promote long-term health and beauty. We tailor each service to your property’s needs, whether it’s a residential yard, estate grounds, or commercial landscape. These services ensure your outdoor space looks pristine, stays healthy, and requires less intervention throughout the year.

Services include:

• Removing debris:

Raking, blowing and removal of all leaves, twigs, branches, litter, and any snow/ice damage remnants from lawns, beds, patios, and hardscapes of the property.

Pruning and trimming: Cutting back dead, damaged or overgrown branches from trees and shrubs and removing annual flowers. Pruning perennials and ornamental grasses to promote plant health, growth and early-season shaping.

Edging garden beds: Preventing grass and weeds from encroaching into beds via roots or runners that can quickly invade a garden while defining clean, crisp lines between your lawn and garden.

Mulch application or replenishment :

Insulates roots, retains soil moisture, adds organic matter, suppresses weeds while adding curb appeal.

• Additional services:

Aeration, top dressing & overseeding, fertilizer application may be included or offered separately.

Weekly Maintenance

Each visit includes these core services, customized based on your property and plan.

Services include:

Precision Mowing:

Cutting grass to the ideal height (typically 2.5–3.5 inches for most cool-season grasses in our area) using sharp blades for clean cuts that reduce stress and disease risk. We follow patterns to minimize ruts and incorporate striping for a polished look, adjusting mowing height and frequency based on growth rates, weather, and season to encourage deep roots and drought tolerance.

Edging and Trimming: Creating crisp, defined edges along sidewalks, driveways, flower beds, patios, and fences; trimming around trees, posts, obstacles, and hard-to-reach areas for a manicured appearance.

Blowing and Cleanup: Removing grass clippings, leaves, and debris from walkways, patios, driveways, and hard surfaces using blowers to leave your property spotless—no mess left behind.

Pruning:

Pruning is not only for controlling size and shape or encouraging new growth. By removing dead, dying, diseased, damaged, or insect infested branches, this prevents problems from not only spreading but helps reduce risks like pests or decay from becoming a problem to begin with.

• Health Checks:

Visual inspection for pests, disease, nutrient issues, irrigation problems, or damage—allowing us to catch and address concerns as early as possible.

Optional Add-Ons: (included/available):

Fertilization applications, granular treatments, topdressing & overseeding uneven bare spots and planting.

Garden Maintenance

Our extensive and meticulous care specializes in horticultural expertise and ongoing attention to detail.

This ensures your grounds remain in pristine condition year-round, adapting to seasonal changes especially in Ontario’s climate with harsh winters, wet springs, hot summers, and fall color transitions.

Services include:

Weed removal:

Removal of weeds on either a weekly or biweekly basis.

 Deadheading and pruning:

Snip off spent flowers (deadheading) to encourage continuous blooming; lightly prune perennials, annuals, and shrubs to maintain shape, remove dead/diseased growth.

• Debris cleanup:

Remove litter, fallen leaves, twigs, spent petals and dead plant material to prevent disease, pests, and unsightly buildup.

• Edging:

Redefine crisp edges between beds and lawn to prevent grass encroachment and give a manicured look.

Mulch maintenance:

Refresh or top up mulch (typically 2-4 inches deep) to suppress weeds, retain soil moisture, moderate soil temperature, and add a neat appearance.

Fertilizing/soil amendment:

Apply slow-release fertilizers tailored to plants; incorporate compost or top-dress soil to improve fertility and structure.

Pest and disease inspection:  Monitor for issues like aphids, fungal spots, borers etc and recommend steps to take in order to correct and help prevent future problems from reoccurring.

Mulch

Mulching your garden beds provides many benefits to your soil and plants outside of just weed suppression.

Benefits include:

 Moderates soil temperatures:

Acting like a buffer zone, keeping plant roots cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Improves soil structure:

Breaking down slowly, feeding microbes, fungi and earthworms. These organisms create soil aggregates, reducing soil compaction and allowing water, nutrients and air to flow throughout. With increased soil structure, plant roots are able to grow deeper and wider in search for water and nutrients. This is important to help avoid unneeded stress in times of drought.

•  Increased nutrient holding capacity (CEC):

By adding organic matter which creates bonds with important nutrients plant roots need, for not only growth, but also to maintain good health.

• Slows evaporation while retaining moisture:

Slowing down and absorbing  water infiltration helps to prevent runoff. This is especially important during heavy rain falls and when using irrigation systems.

 Reduces soil erosion:

Mulch cushions the soil from heavy rain, reducing compaction, run off and nutrient loss. This also prevents soil from splashing up onto leaves, reducing fungal diseases like powdery mildew.

Core Aeration

Core aeration is a lawn care practice that involves using a machine with hollow tines to remove small plugs of soil typically 1/2 - 3/4 inch in diameter and 2-4 inches deep) from the lawn.

Benefits include:

• Reduces soil compaction:

Relieves pressure on and breaks up soil particles, making it easier for roots to grow deeper in search for water and nutrients.

• Improves air circulation:

Creates channels for oxygen to reach grass roots, which is essential for healthy respiration and growth. When soils are compacted, anaerobic conditions occur which then creates organic acids and alcohols that kill plant roots on contact. This will then prevent further growth and restrict access to water and nutrients.

• Enhances water infiltration and reduces runoff:

Water soaks in deeper instead of puddling or running off, leading to less waste from irrigation, better hydration and improved drought tolerance.

• Increased nutrient uptake:

Fertilizer and natural nutrients reach the root zone more effectively, requiring less inputs over time.

• Manages thatch buildup:

Thatch is a layer of dead grass and organic matter that if over 1/2 inch thick can block water and air. Aeration helps remove thatch and promotes soil microbes that break it down naturally.

Topdressing/Overseeding

Topdressing and overseeding your lawn is a powerful, complimentary lawn care practice that work well together. This is often done right after core aeration for maximum results. Spring and early fall provide the best conditions with increased rainfall and ideal temperatures more suitable for seed germination.

Benefits include:

• Adds organic matter and nutrients:

Compost or topsoil enriches the soil with slow-release nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and micronutrients, feeding the grass naturally and reducing the need for frequent synthetic fertilizers over time.

• Promotes beneficial microbes and earthworms:

Organic topdressing feeds biology, which breaks down thatch naturally, improves nutrient cycling, and boosts overall soil health for stronger grass.

• Thickens and fills in bare spots:

Fills in sparse areas from wear, disease, shade, or winter damage. This results in denser turf that looks fuller and greener. More grass blades help to crowd out weeds naturally, reduce bare soil exposure and makes the lawn more resistant to pests, diseases, drought and heavy foot traffic.

• Bootsts long-term health

New plants develop strong roots, especially when overseeded into aerated and topdressed soil. This leads to better nutrient and water uptake as well as recovery from stress.
